The Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk paid tribute to the Polish sportsmen who had died during the Second World War with a unique family picnic. An event “Match which Didn’t Take Place” was organised on 7 September 2019 in the stadium in Traugutt Street. Football tournament for children born in 2010 started at 10:00 a.m. on the side pitch.
Geneva is yet another city, where the visitors can see an exhibition displayed within the international project “Fighting and Suffering” carried out by the Museum of the Second World War in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Celebrations to commemorate the outbreak of World War II were concluded with a moving musical performance entitled “This Is How the War Began”.It presented wartime poems, songs composed specifically for this occasion, as well as new arrangements of contemporary songs.
On the 80th anniversary of the signing of Molotov and Ribbentrop signing a Pact of aggression against the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Museum along with the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity Institute organised a two-day international scientific conference.

On 1 September 2019, immediately after concluding the celebration at the monument to the Defenders of the Coast in Gdańsk, an official foundation stone laying ceremony for the Museum of Westerplatte and the War of 1939 and opening of a special exhibition was held at the Westerplatte Power Plant building.
We invite you to the vernissage of a temporary exhibition “Fighting and Suffering. Polish citizens during the Second World War” The exhibition is designed as an interdisciplinary project based on a variety of forms, media and scenographic solutions. They are woven into a cohesive story about the Polish experience of World War II, which provides vivid insights into the horror and tragedy of those times.
On 1 September 2019 at 8:00 pm on the Museum’s stage Bovska, Krzysztof Cugowski, Piotr Cugowski, Grzegorz Hyży, Ralph Kamiński, Dawid Kwiatkowski, Michał Kowalonek, Margaret, Natalia Nykiel, O.S.T.R, Janusz Radek, The Dumplings, Warsaw Sentimental Orchestra and Tomasz Szymuś Orchestra will perform.
