FOR GUIDES
How to become a guide?
A guide is someone who has taken part in the course for new candidates for guides at the main exhibition of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and has passed the exam. After obtaining a certificate and an ID card, he or she will be entitled to show groups around the Museum. The next course for new candidates is planned for April 2021.
We have prepared a number of perks for all of the guides cooperating with our museum:
- 50% discount on meals and drinks at the Bistro Museum,
- free entry to the main exhibition and temporary exhibitions,
- a guide zone located behind the ticket offices.
Information about training and courses
The next training session for certified guides is scheduled for March 2021 and it will prepare guides for a tour of the former Military Transit Depot at Westerplatte. Participation in the course is free of charge. People who have taken part in the course and have passed the exam will be recommended on our website.
The next training session after that is planned for autumn 2021 and will be for certified guides. The training will be obligatory and its aim is to consolidate guides' knowledge about the content presented in the main exhibition. The training session will end with an exam - a positive result will entitle guides to the commercial provision of guide services on the premises of the Museum.
