Education at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk

The Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk - using the latest technological possibilities - has developed a number of innovative digital educational projects. One of our aims is to reach young people with a valuable, but also attractive historical message that will appeal to their interests and, above all, make the story of World War II more engaging to them. Our educational projects are available on computers, smartphones, tablets and VR goggles.

LESSONS BASED ON VIRTUAL WALKS AROUND THE MAIN EXHIBITION

We encourage you to participate in three attractive online history lessons, thanks to which you can learn about the history of the Polish Underground State, the Soviet-German cooperation and the Katyn Massacre. As part of the lessons, users can visit selected sections of the main exhibition of our Museum, familiarize themselves with selected exhibits, and then solve a quiz.

Educational projects "Time travel"

Another of our projects is "Time travel". This is an interactive game that allows you to learn more about the fate of Polish families during the German occupation. This project gives the opportunity to move around a realistically reproduced interior of a pre-war Warsaw apartment.

The game was designed on the basis of our children’s exhibition, and uses Unreal and Unity gaming engines.

THE ‘WESTERPLATTE – THE FIRST BATTLE OF WORLD WAR II’ EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

Thanks to our educational project "Westerplatte - the first battle of World War II", you can learn about the details of the heroic defense of the Military Transit Depot.

We invite you to virtually visit Westerplatte at the time of September 1939, see the unique 3D models and get acquainted with the history of the commanders and the soldiers who fought in this heroic battle on the peninsula, thus going down in history as the defenders of Westerplatte.
