Japan’s Ambassador to Poland, Miyajima Akio, and the Embassy's Second Secretary, Ishihara Hiroaki, paid a visit to the Museum of the Second World War today. The Museum’s Directors and his Deputy Directors, accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Education and Science Department, showed the guests around our exhibitions.
On Friday, 5th February, after an almost three-month-long break, the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk will reopen to the public. Those who decide to visit us in the coming days can expect special attractions.
We are happy to inform you that from 5th February 2021 Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk will be open to visitors. Make sure to learn about safety regulations during your visit.
It gives us a great pleasure to inform you that due to the strong interest shown in the “We will accept Your Personal History” Nationwide Collection of Artifacts, we decided to continue running this initiative until December 31, 2021.
The first issue of the scientific journal “Polish-Jewish Studies” edited by the Institute of National Remembrance has been published. Chief Editor of this annual is Deputy Director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Prof. Grzegorz Berendt.
The Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk (main exhibition, temporary exhibition, library, cinema) will be closed until further notice.
On 21 December this year, results of the competition for drawing up an urban and architectural concept of the Military Cemetery of the Polish Soldiers at Westerplatte were presented at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk. A victorious work was made by NM architects Tomasz Marciniewicz, Zuzanna Szpocińska, Jerzy Grochulski (team of authors comprising: Tomasz Marciniewicz, Zuzanna Szpocińska, Jerzy Grochulski, Karolina Kayzer).
