On 24 October 2009, the jury made up of Wiesław Bielawski, Stefan Chwin, Jarosław Krawczyk, Boris Kudlička, Jack Lohmann, Piotr M. Majewski – secretary, Andrew Nagorski, Andrzej Pągowski – chairman and Andrzej Wajda adjudicated the competition for the initial concept of the main exhibition.
Prime Minister Tusk opened the outdoor exhibition “Westerplatte: A spa – a bastion – a symbol”, which had been created by the Museum of the Second World War. The prime minister then signed the Museum’s Foundation Act.
The Advisory Board of the Museum of the Second World War, created by the Museum’s director and made up of prominent historians from Poland and other European countries, held its first meeting on 25 June 2009 in Warsaw.
The Board’s inaugural meeting took place on 30 April 2009 at 11.00 in the offices of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage at Krakowskie Przedmieście 15/17 in Warsaw.
