We are excited to announce that Digital Westerplatte project, designed by Chronospace IT company for the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk, has received a distinction in the "Startup - The Best Technological Solution" category in the "Innovation Eagle" contest by Rzeczpospolita daily.

According to the agreement concluded between the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk and the Governor of Pomerania, the museum has provided four rooms for free use, located in the museum's hotel annex, to meet the needs of medical staff working in the area of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The exhibition “Poles in the Free City of Gdańsk” presents the fates of the Polish minority, which has served Poland since the beginning of WMG’s [Free City of Gdańsk] existence through its active involvement to preserve its national identity against the German majority. The exhibition presents various manifestations of everyday life of the Polish population in the WMG until the outbreak of World War II.

As part of a series „Enter History” we present a German plan of Warsaw with the 1942 ghetto area marked with a blue line.

Three films produced by the Museum of the Second World War have been awarded by the international and national jury of the 15th edition of the FilmAT Festival. Our productions were recognized as the best ones in the “documentaries & TV reports” and “tourism communication” categories.

Museum of the Second World War Youth Council is a body that will fulfil a consultancy function for our institution. One of the goals of the project is to disseminate knowledge of history among youths and to promote participation in culture and public life.

In connection with the inclusion of Gdańsk in the so-called COVID-19 red zone and numerous questions concerning the opening of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk from 16 October this year, we inform that our facility will be open to visitors.

On 2 October 2020, the Undersecretary of Culture and National Heritage Jarosław Sellin appointed Dr. Karol Nawrocki as the director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk for another term of office (2020-2027).
