START OF THE WORK AS PART OF THE MODERNIZATION OF THE FORMER POWER PLANT ON WESTERPLATTE

In connection with the modernization of the former Power Plant building, work related to the construction of a temporary slab road on the Westerplatte peninsula (section D-E on the attached drawing) has started.

In addition, next week, the Contractor will start setting up a concrete partition along the existing pedestrian route, which is to separate pedestrian traffic from road traffic (section C-D on the attached drawing). The traffic route will also be properly marked to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

ACCESS ROUTE DURING CONSTRUCTION OF THE POWER PLANT - DIAGRAM

A-E- route of the access road for the construction of the power plant

Section D-E to be implemented by the Contractor

Section C-D   existing concrete route to be divided in half along the axis: northern part - road traffic, southern part - pedestrian traffic (visitors)

Section A - E information and warning signs

Point C – location of gate to be placed enabling access to the monument

Point D - location of military vehicles joining  traffic while commuting to the military base in the western parts of the peninsula

Point E - location of information signs to be placed: no entry for vehicles with the exception of vehicles with construction ID, STOP sign

- A barrier separating the two lanes to be made of prefabricated concrete blocks

- construction of a pedestrian bypass for visitors

- Along the constructed road at the A-D section, there will be road traffic for military units from and to the western parts of the  peninsula.

- Turn at the barracks (point C) constructed to allow passage of lorries / long trucks.
