Three films produced by the Museum of the Second World War have been awarded by the international and national jury of the 15th edition of the FilmAT Festival. Our productions were recognized as the best ones in the “documentaries & TV reports” and “tourism communication” categories.

Museum of the Second World War Youth Council is a body that will fulfil a consultancy function for our institution. One of the goals of the project is to disseminate knowledge of history among youths and to promote participation in culture and public life.

In connection with the inclusion of Gdańsk in the so-called COVID-19 red zone and numerous questions concerning the opening of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk from 16 October this year, we inform that our facility will be open to visitors.

On 2 October 2020, the Undersecretary of Culture and National Heritage Jarosław Sellin appointed Dr. Karol Nawrocki as the director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk for another term of office (2020-2027).

A total of 110 applications have been submitted to the competition for urban and architectural concept design of the Military Cemetery of the Polish Soldiers at Westerplatte

The Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk is first in the world to launch a project that merges VR and AR  technologies for digitally recreated historical events and sites.

A dedicated WBMF website and a mobile devices app have been merged to provide an exciting user experience. Extensive educational content is accessed  by means of VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) technologies.
