The competition for an urban-architectural concept design for the Polish Military Cemetery at Westerplatte is a one-stage, open, implementation-oriented urban-architectural competition.
The aim of the competition is to select the best concept design for the Polish Military Cemetery at Westerplatte, which will suitably commemorate the Polish Army soldiers fallen in battle, with consideration for the historical and cultural significance of the symbolic site of the beginning of the Second World War. The concept design will serve as a basis for developing full design documentation making it possible to carry out the investment.
The selected concept design should be aimed at creating a memorial site, a place of social interaction, culture, patriotic and historical education as well as an area for national, religious and military ceremonies.
Natural persons, legal persons and organisational units without legal personality which meet the requirements listed in the Competition Regulations are welcome to take part in the competition.
The Ordering Party sets the total planned cost of conducting work based on the competition entry at a maximum gross amount of 3,500,000 PLN.
The organizer of the competition is the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk.
