We invite you to the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk for the temporary exhibition ‘THE FOREST - Refuge of Victims. Hideout of Crime’, with the opening scheduled for August 30th, 2024. 
In May and June 2024, 58,611 and 54,569 guests respectively visited the main exhibition of the Museum of the Second World War (MSWW) in Gdańsk. These numbers are record highs since the museum opened in March 2017.
Thursday marks the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. This was the largest battle in the history of Polish arms, involving not only soldiers of the uprising units but also civilians. On August 1st, a 63-day struggle for freedom began.
The concrete sculpture sign ‘Westerplatte’ is one of the symbols of this battlefield. Created in the late 1980s at the entrance to the peninsula, it was intended to serve as an introductory element—something that many believed was previously lacking.
