RECORD-BREAKING MAY AND JUNE! OVER 3.2 MILLION VISITORS HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO MSWW!
In May and June 2024, 58,611 and 54,569 guests respectively visited the main exhibition of the Museum of the Second World War (MSWW) in Gdańsk. These numbers are record highs since the museum opened in March 2017. As of July 1st, 2024, the visitor count has reached another impressive milestone, confirming that over 3.2 million people have explored the history of the most tragic conflict in our civilization at the MSWW over the past seven years.
To provide some additional statistics, the first half of this year saw 244,234 visitors, placing it second in MSWW history, just behind the top year of 2018, which recorded 254,115 visitors.
Turning to the record-breaking attendance of May and June 2024, it is noteworthy that the European Night of Museums was especially popular with guests. This year, nearly 4,500 people visited our institution during this event.
The III Edition of the Lost Culture Festival, which ran from May 18th to June 15th, 2024, was also a significant success. The festival’s diverse cultural events, including a concert by performer O.S.T.R., where he premiered tracks from his new album ‘XX’ created in collaboration with the MSWW, greatly contributed to the increased visitor numbers.
We are now starting the summer season, which annually attracts crowds of tourists and locals looking for engaging cultural events. The promising second half of the year will feature more exhibitions, meetings, and artistic performances. On August 1st, as part of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, T.LOVE will perform in the square in front of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk!
