Premiere of a multimedia show “Poland: First to Fight”
Celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II began on the 23 August 2019. It’s a symbolic date. On this day in 1939, Joachim von Ribbentrop and Vyacheslav Molotov signed a pact with a secret protocol attached defining the spheres of influence of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union in Central and Eastern Europe. Multimedia show “Poland: First to Fight” displayed in the evening was one of the events commencing the celebrations.
This spectacular performance combining choreographic elements and video mapping introduced genesis, course and effects of this tragic conflict to the audience. Moreover, the heroism of Poles, their fight against the occupier and the horror of war were shown. Prominent Poles, who had been ready to help others and fight for freedom of their motherland in the name of highest sacrifices, were recalled. The show employs modern multimedia techniques, such as 3D video mapping, LED screens, large-format animations, pyrotechnical effects, as well as music and sounds. Thanks to the actors, the show gained dynamism.
The event was executed by Projection Artworks from Great Britain - a company with many years of experience in preparing open air shows.
