Liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto
As part of the activities informing about the fate of the Jewish population, the Home Army published in November 1942 a booklet titled: Liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto. Reportage.
The author of the booklet, which was printed in underground conditions in 2,000 copies, was Antoni Szymanowski, alias Brun, who served in the VI Department of the Information and Propaganda Office of the Home Army Headquarters.
The brochure described the events that took place in the ghetto in Warsaw from July 22 to September 12, 1942, and contained a report about the Treblinka camp. In 1942, the Germans carried out activities related to the liquidation of the Warsaw ghetto, during which approximately 280,000 Jews were deported to the Treblinka extermination camp and murdered.
