Kazimierz Piechowski has passed away
It is with great regret that we announce that Kazimierz Piechowski passed away last night, a hero of one of the most daring escapes from KL Auschwitz.
A soldier of the Home Army, a prisoner of the Stalinist period and, above all, a tireless dreamer who could defy the most horrible nightmares with hope and sensitivity for humanity. Kazimierz Piechowski is one of those beautiful biographies that we show to the world in the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk as a model of humanity and humanistic attitudes.
In the collection of the Museum of the Second World War there is a unique flag. It comes from Lviv, and its history is a symbol of the martyrdom of Poles in the East.
