This study by Grzegorz Motyka, Rafał Wnuk, Tomasz Stryjek and Adam F. Baran analyzes the anti-Soviet underground in East-Central Europe in 1944-53. The authors (with the exception of Adam F. Baran) took part in the event, discussing the issues covered in their book, their research methods, collection of documents and archival surveys.
Professor Rafał Wnuk talked about the anti-Communist underground in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belorussia and Poland, focussing on the similarities and differences of their operations. Professor Grzegorz Motyka compared the methods used by the Soviet authorities to defeat these underground organizations, and Professor Tomasz Stryjek discussed the partisan actions in the historiography of these countries.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer period.
