Registration in the Library

The Library of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk is public, and due to the thematic scope of collections it is a special library. The collection currently consists of over 20,000 volumes of books, magazines, audiovisual and electronic documents, maps and special collections in over 20 languages.

The assortment is systematically increased through purchases, donations and exchanges conducted between various museums and scientific institutions in Poland and abroad. In addition to items strictly related to the subject of World War II, the Library also contains publications necessary to process objects collected in the Museum. Noteworthy are also our collections in the fields of conservation, restoration, safeguard of museum objects, museum activities and educational materials that help other substantive departments of the Museum. The collections are used by both Museum employees as well as other readers who can use them on-site at the Library (28 places, including 4 computer places). Searching the library resources is possible on library computers using the Patron library catalog.

To register in the Library, one should report to a security staff member on duty on level -1 and provide personal data for registration as a guest. After registering in the Library, a guest will receive a Library Card allowing access to the library collections and use of the panoramic lift to the Library level (+2).
