Last Thursday, 12 February 2015, in the Warsaw University Gallery in the Kazimierz Palace the „Routes of Liberation. European Legacies of the Second World War” exhibition was opened. The exhibition was prepared by an international team of professionals representing: the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Dutch Foundation Liberation Route Europe, Allied Museum Berlin, Museum Mémorial de Caen, National Liberation Museum 1944-1945 in Groesbeek and D-Day Museum in Portsmouth. It considers the origins, course, and complex legacies of the Second World War and the consequences of the conflict for the European countries. Participating in the opening of the exhibition in Warsaw were the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Poland Mr Paul P.J. Bekkers, rector of the University of Warsaw professor Marcin Pałys and the authors of the exhibition professor Paweł Machewicz, director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and Victoria van Krieken, director of the Liberation Route Europe Foundation.
