The Westerplatte Museum, Department of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk

This year, we would like to invite you to the Westerplatte Peninsula to a place that until now visitors could see only from behind a fence. Thanks to the hospitality of the Maritime Border Guard Department in Gdańsk, we have the unquestionable opportunity to view the historic building of the Military Power Station of the Transit Warehouse from close up.

Bearing in mind that the Night of Museums is a treat for collectors of impressions and extraordinary experiences, we want to reveal the mystery of the over 90-year-old building of the Power Plant.

Maybe it's the atmosphere of the place, the desire to see what is invisible to the eyes every day, or maybe human curiosity that pushes people to active participation in this special night.

Of course, there will be reconstructions of WP II RP, original military equipment and weapons, screening of an archival film and ... unforgettable impressions.

19:00 - 24:00 - workshops "Training in the field of cannon handling"

For children there are attractions in the form of training in the field of service of a century-old field cannon wz. 26 and anti-tank cannon Bofors wz. 36 produced in 1939, exactly as those used when defending Westerplatte. Everyone who successfully completes tasks related to cannon handling will receive a commemorative diploma of the Westerplatte Museum and the War of 1939.
