Museum of the Second World War joined the International Council of Museums ICOM

Museum of the Second World War became a member of ICOM, International Council of Museums, organisation of museums and museum professionals with a global scope. The Council was created in 1946, maintains formal relations with UNESCO and has a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. ICOM General Secretariat's offices are located in Paris.

ICOM’s main goal is the promotion and protection of natural and cultural heritage, representing and supporting the global museum community. It is also a leading force in museum ethical matters.

ICOM gathers approximately 30,000 museum professionals and 20,000 museums from 137 countries and territories.
