Miyajima Akio, Ambassador of Japan to Poland, visits Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk
Japan’s Ambassador to Poland, Miyajima Akio, and the Embassy's Second Secretary, Ishihara Hiroaki, paid a visit to the Museum of the Second World War today. The Museum’s Directors and his Deputy Directors, accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Education and Science Department, showed the guests around our exhibitions. Following the tour, the honourable guests attended a screening of a film, A Postcard from the Uprising, a virtual reality feature that is one of the many projects within the New Technologies Zone. The visit concluded with a meeting during which guests from Japan were presented with proposed development plans for the future Museum of Westerplatte and the War of 1939.
Ambassador Miyajima Akio and Director Karol Nawrocki met for the second time. During today’s meeting they discussed the possibilities of developing cooperation between the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk and Japanese museums, such as Chiune Sugihara Memorial Hall, Port of Humanity Tsuruga Museum, Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
