Meeting of the Youth Council of the Museum

Meeting of the Youth Council of the Museum

This past Wednesday marked a significant day for the Youth Council of the Museum. Two sessions took place: the first was a summary meeting concluding the 2020–2024 term, and the second inaugurated the activities of the 2024–2027 term.

Over the past few years, the Council’s contributions have been evident on numerous occasions. The young members enthusiastically participated in various events organized under the auspices of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk.

The Youth Council serves as a consultative body for our institution. One of the project's key goals is to spread historical knowledge among young people, promote participation in culture, and encourage engagement in public life.

A highlight of the meeting was the oath taken by the new Council members. Following this, the members introduced themselves, and a vote was held to elect the Chairperson. By an absolute majority, Joanna Raro was chosen as Chairperson.

Council members will have the opportunity to submit proposals and opinions on the Museum’s current activities, actively participate in museum projects, co-organize cultural events and educational competitions, and implement their own initiatives. Their responsibilities will include collaborating with various Museum departments, student councils, and youth organizations.

Beyond its consultative role, the Youth Council aims to disseminate historical knowledge and promote cultural and civic participation among youth. The Museum hopes the Council members will inspire their peers to develop historical awareness and foster a commitment to preserving patriotic traditions.
