Library

The Library of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk is public, and due to the thematic scope of its collections, it is a special library. Currently, it consists of over 20 thousand volumes of books, magazines, audio-visual and electronic documents, maps and special collections in over 20 languages.

The resource is systematically increased through purchases, donations and exchanges between various museums and scientific institutions in the country and abroad. In addition to items closely related to the subject of World War II, the library also contains publications necessary to process objects collected in the Museum. Noteworthy are also our collections in the field of conservation, renovations, safeguarding of museum exhibits, about museum activities and educational materials that help other substantive departments of the Museum. The collections help the Museum employees to perform their duties, but also help readers who can access them on the spot in the reading room (28 stations, including 4 computer stations). Searching through library resources is possible using the Patron library catalogue. We are also opening the Reading Room soon.
