Historical Tourism – Reconnaissance as Part of Work on New Offerings at the Museum

Recently, we informed you about the 22nd edition of the Rally Along the Route of the 5th Vilnius Brigade of the Home Army led by Major Szendzielarz ‘Łupaszka’. Historical tourism is an interesting and popular way to explore the past, and so we are currently working on a new offering related to it, both for the planned temporary exhibition and as part of the educational activities of our Museum.

It is important to remember that the brutal German repressions against the ethnic Polish population from the very first days of the war, as well as its geographical and natural characteristics—specifically, the forested areas that were unfavorable for partisan warfare—made Pomerania a very challenging area of operation for units fighting the occupiers. Nevertheless, the largest forest complex, the Tuchola Forest, was witness to events recorded in the annals of the Polish Underground State.

We are therefore developing a new educational offering on this area, as well as planning to participate in international historical tourism programs. We will be sharing updates on projects that combine elements of sightseeing, historical education, and ecological awareness, all taking place both at our main location and in the picturesque, natural surroundings of the Pomeranian forests.

Follow our updates on the website and social media profiles to stay informed about new offerings and activity schedules. We will soon provide a detailed timetable along with reservation options. We warmly invite you to participate in our new educational initiatives!
