Advisory Board meeting and election of its chairman
The Advisory Board of the Museum of the Second World War, created by the Museum’s director and made up of prominent historians from Poland and other European countries, held its first meeting on 25 June 2009 in Warsaw.
Taking part in the meeting were: Jerzy Borejsza, Włodzimierz Borodziej, Andrzej Chwalba, Norman Davies, Israel Gutman, Ulrich Herbert, Jerzy Holzer, Pavel Markovich Polian, Krzysztof Pomian, Henry Rousso and Tomasz Szarota. Dr Yuri Shapoval and Prof. Władysław Bartoszewski were unable to attend.
Museum Director Prof. Paweł Machcewicz chaired the Advisory Board’s initial meeting. Its members discussed the permanent exhibition and the organizational details of the board’s work, and confirmed its advisory role. They elected Prof. Norman Davies as chairman for two years.
