A Weekend for Seniors at the Museum of the Second World War

A Weekend for Seniors at the Museum of the Second World War

The ‘Weekend for Seniors with Culture’ at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk took place on October 5th-6th, as part of the annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, visitors enjoyed special activities surrounding the museum's latest temporary exhibition, Forest: Refuge of Victims. Hiding Place of Crime. Highlights included the art workshop Forest Treasures, where participants created beautiful compositions using natural materials such as moss, leaves, pine cones, dried flowers, and bark. These workshops provided a space for artistic expression, shared learning, and the acquisition of new creative skills, resulting in lovely pieces for participants to take home.

  • Over the weekend, more than 4,500 people visited the museum's main exhibition, with close to 300 visiting the temporary Forest exhibit. Seniors made up 318 of these attendees. Since 2017, nearly 1,970 seniors have participated in the Weekend for Seniors with Culture events.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and took part in the activities!
