On 6 June in Arromanches, France there was an official launch of the international history-tourism project Liberation Route Europe conducted together by the Museum of the Second World War and its partners from the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and Germany.

The international team, apart from the Museum of the Second World War, includes among others: Mémorial de Caen, Allied Museum in Berlin, National Liberation Museum 1944-1945 and the Arnhem Nijmegen Regional Bureau for Tourism. The team started its work on the project in 2013. The idea behindLiberation Route Europe is to promote shared Europe’s historical and cultural heritage, particular towns and regions and support international tourism.

The event in Arromanches was accompanied by the launch of Liberation Route Europe website and app, both available in five languages of all the partners.

Liberation Route Europe was presented during the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day and in the presence of the Dutch king Willem-Alexander and queen Maxima. All project partners took part in the event.
