Museum delegation visiting Kazakhstan

The Directorate of the Museum of the Second World War on April 26, 2018 at 10.00 am local time took part in a scientific conference devoted to the centenary of Poland's regaining independence at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty. It was one of the events organized by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland Radosław Gruka, accompanying the celebration of Polish Week in Almaty in Kazakhstan.

The Polish Week program organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Almaty, held from April 24 to May 1, 2018, included a series of cultural and artistic events, bringing Polish folklore, Polish history, music, cuisine, creativity, Polish cinema, Polish sport and Polish charity to the people of Kazakhstan.

Among the fifty guests from Poland invited to Almaty, there was a delegation of the Museum of the Second World War, the director of the institution Dr. Karol Nawrocki and deputy director Dr. Tomasz Szturo, who shared with the hosts of the Polish Week their historical knowledge and experience in the field of education and culture.

Almaty is the largest city and, since recently, the capital of Kazakhstan, a metropolis with 1.5 million inhabitants, located at the foot of perpetually snow-streaked mountains almost 4,000 m above sea level. There are fifteen colleges there , including the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the main and largest academy of Kazakhstan, which is the heart of the country's scientific life.
This is the second visit of the director of the Museum of the Second World War in Kazakhstan. Last year,

Dr. Karol Nawrocki took part in a meeting with Mukatajewy Danijar, director of the State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
